Monroe Pencils

Here are are so pencil examples of the Mad strip "Monroe" I did with writer Anthony Beriberi. This was just a year or two into the strip, Tony had written what I felt was the best script so far and the publisher as behind us encouraging us to push the envelope. I had respect and the ear of editorial for the most part, and had just gotten a raise. I felt privileged, respected and on my game. The only down note on this one was the censoring of Grandpa's Nazi marching pose something that still dumbfounds me with movies like the Producers being as tame as fast food. Sorry about the lack of dialogue and not all of the art in here, but the general idea is there is a costumed themed Christmas party at Monroe's house where he lives with his Mom and Grandpa. The parents are divorced and bring there new flames with them. Hijinks ensue. The hand written dialogue snippits were my suggestions-- don't remember if they were used, my guess in not.

Cool! Is there a collected Monroe book out there or is it only available in individual issues of Mad!?
These are great - I love the expressiveness (word?) of the characters poses!

Were those Ugly things you did below for Nick or something? I was watching cartoons at my dad's this weekend (I know, very adult of me) and I swear I saw the green guy playing ball.
